Adventure photography is the polarisation between space and subject - a fragile subject in a dangerous space or a small subject in a vast space. A person scaling a mountain. A small fragile tent set against the vastness of the alps. An exposed runner challenged to push limits in inhospitable terrain. Adventure photography is a commercially viable genre of photography that has its roots in landscape, fashion and product photography. I focus on shooting real situations by placing people who love their environments in often inaccessible and extreme spaces where knowledge, confidence and experience are key to both the picture and the safe return of the team.
